I don't understand how you could sue in this but then look at former General Petraus' (Sp ?) mistress than look at his wife and maybe I could understand it a little. I mean could you blame the guy. A 5 star general jumped on the last opportunity of his life to have fun with a very attractive lady that liked him as well. This is an excuse for vengeance which in itself is fatally sinful. No woman can force a man to leave his wife..give me a break and this could lead to other dangerous ideas like implementing stoning of women in this country..ok do we want that? If your spouse beats you physically - they'd be punished by law. An affair is a from of emotional abuse - and there should also be a law that protects the victim.

Great explanation of "Alienation of Affection!" I never even knew that such a law existed. I could see how it would be difficult to collect though if the jury awards too much money. Still it seems like a great way for a spouse to get back at a cheating husband or wife. I would imagine that it could be very difficult to prove though so the video is correct in that you really want to make sure you hire a good lawyer.
