Mosquitos are independent recycling collectors who roam around town in ramshackle pick up trucks collecting cardboard, often illegally. The predominantly immigrant, under-the-table mosquito worker typically gets something in the area of $80 for a packed load of cardboard almost twice as tall as the truck itself. Cities are increasingly cracking down on mosquitos for poaching a lucrative trade for the government sanctioned recycling contractors.

  • Still god for the environment

  • I live in SF and the one thing I don't like about the poaching is when I see elderly people carrying 5 or 6 garbage bags full of bottles, I don't see why they need the money from the bottles and I don't think it's good for their bodies to be carrying so much junk on their shoulders.

  • the fresh air must be nicer its stuffy as hell in our warehouse our slave master doesnt want to leave the doors open for fear of getting robbed

  • He has more fun and works in a more diverse environment, I expect.

  • I can see the problem with the cans and bottles here in NYC. I collect and put out my recyclables on garbage day like we're supposed to do here, cause it's the law. The problem is that poor folks come and open up all the bags and take out the cans and bottles that they can get 5cents each for, and then dump the other recylcables, like detergent bottles, and juice cartons on the sidewalk. Which I then would find and have to clean up, otherwise I'd get a fine for having garbage dumped improperly.

  • 80 bucks a day i operate a forklift and he gets paid the same as me

  • I LOVE LOST.
