@sincereradical There were 100,000 Communist troops in control of half of Cambodia that had been recieving military aid from Ho Chi Minh for decades 10 months prior to any American bombing; documents uncovered from the Soviet archives reveal that the North Vietnamese invasion of 1970 was launched at the explicit request of the Khmer Rouge following negotiations with Neon Chea (Susan E. Cook, Genocide in Cambodia and Rwanda). The Menu bombings did not go deeper than ten miles into Cambodia.

People joke that the Nobel peace Prize was devalued by Obama's somewhat premature nomination. But the fact is, the Nobel prize became a tragic joke when Kissinger was awarded the prize for his "humanitarian" efforts.

No, I don't think they are different, as they are both the works of criminals and violent groups that in a normal stable society wouldn't be able to operate.
Here in the US there are plenty of criminals, gangs, drug cartels), and armed militias, not to mention the racist groups. These aren't taking over anything because there is a government and police. Take away these and there'll be chaos and violence. The one who took that away if ultimately responsible.

Chaos in the form of lotting, street crime, etc., is one thing. Car bombs and mass murder is entirely another. Glad to otherwise see that you see the more recent example aka Iraq. Not our fault that they are killing each other this way. Lastly, friend, these are humans and not forces of nature, so we did not "release" anything. They took it upon themselves to do the releasing and morally accountable for the same.
Yes, Nixon created the Khmer Rough. I bet your history books don't teach your kids that.
