Everyone should have the right to say whatever they please, no matter how hateful, ignorant, controversial, unpopular, or downright stupid it is. If you give the federal government the power to take away just one person's freedom of speech, that sets a dangerous precedent that says the government can take away anyone's freedom of speech. For any nation to be truly free, the people must be able to express themselves freely without fear of censorship or discrimination.

@556deltawolf Freedom is freedom wether we like it or agree with it or not. You call it hte speech, and some crazy fuck out there calls it inspirational...And being the great country we are, we have the maturity to let these people say what they want and not give them the time they want so badly. These people giving them lip service and t.v. coverage are the reason they still do this...The ACLU just does an outstanding job at protecting freedoms, and people hate it sometimes.

You hypocrites piss and moan when it's YOUR freedoms being taken away, but when it's someone else's, it's o.k. to go ahead and steal those freedoms away. Are they right for protesting these funerals...HELLLL NO...but they are still Americans...And they still retain the right to protest whatever they want, no matter how stupid. Besides, how are we going to know these people and label them idiots if you want to hide them from us?

@yadig2012 ACLU defends rights, regardless of how they are practiced. They will defend a homosexuals right to marry and live happily along with a bigots right to protest. Thats how the wind blows. Just because you dont like how someone may use their rights doesnt absolve them of their right to those rights. Sucks some times, but thats how the wind blows.
