This grass was a little short to cut with a cutter (sickle) bar, but we had the time to make the video so we went for it. The operator of the tractor is our office manager, Abbey, who, as of the time this video was shot, had about 15 minutes of experience running a walk-behind tractor in her life. She is about 5' 6" tall. The tractor is a BCS model 853 with 13hp Honda gas engine. Note in the parts of the video where she cuts through grass that has already been cut, the European-style sickle bar mows through it smoothly without clogging. Of course, cutter bars will cut any height material and woody brush and saplings up to 3/4" diameter, so this video is not the most impressive...but it does give an example that virtually anyone can run one of these machines, and the speed at which cutting can be done. This 1.5 acre field was cut in about 1.5 hours or less.
