I show you how a linear accelerator works when it accelerates electrons. I use a simple linear accelerator animation to demonstrate this. It is the same principal no matter what particle is being accelerated. Linear accelerator is often shorted to LINAC, LINear ACcelerator. Some examples of LINACs are SLAC, LINAC II at the LHC in Geneva, Switzerland, and LINAC III at the LHC in Switzerland.
