  • You are right Frank the main body of Ho Ngau's choy lee fut is Hung Sing however a few buk sing forms were accumualted along the way.

  • You are correct this is a Buk Sing Form. Choy Lee Fut is a big family the form decended from Buk Sing Master Talm Sams lineage.I cant recall if it came through Ho Ngau or direct to master Chan Yu Yiu. I will ask him next time I see him. keep training and Best Regards

  • I agree that this is buk sing. It looks very close to the dai sup ji I learned from chiu kwok-chung sifu...nice to see thanks for sharing!

  • Its same except the poon kiu is something different. 3 bow is chan family, hung sing must be 1 is my teacher says.

    Chan Ngau Sing form!

Hope to see your video! Mine is up soon I think.

  • @9thDrunkenImmortal - awesome video man! thats almost exactly like the dai sup ji i learned too. i see what u mean now about the 1 bow opening. my opening is the same as that except instead of the chap choy (the one 2 moves after the first bow), i have a 2nd bow. then the rest of my form is exactly the same as that, i'll take a vid of it and post it on here to show you sometime! :)

  • I showed this one to my teacher. He say this is very traditional Hung Sing from old time. I dont know history much but he say Ho Ngau also learn from Chan Ngau Sing before, and this form is from him. I learned this form almost exactly the same so I was interested.

It shows 1 bow only, that is original Hung Sing before being influence!

    大十字拳

  • Thanks for sharing the video, regardless of where it comes from it is choy li fut!

  • Dragon, Tiger, Snake, Panther, Crane, Lion, Horse, Monkey,Elephant, and Tiger-cub. Hope that helps. This is also called Sup Ji Bagua kuen right?

  • Anybody know what animals are involved in the 10 animal form?

  • This form is really nice to see. Its a Hung Sing form, and has all the same elements found in Professor Lau Bun's Hung Sing Kwoon.

  • a form is just a dance, but a real martial artist can pick apart the form and train the fighting techniques. forms have been trained and developed for hundreds of years for a reason. but its ok to most outsiders they see a form and they all say that at first lol

Let me point out some things that help you in a fight here.

    1. Strong legs from stance work and agile footwork

    2. Twisting at the waste and using the entire body to strike

    3. Full of extension of the arms when striking for max distance and power

    4. Ambidexterity from practicing strikes and stances on both sides

That is just a few of the benefits of practicing this way. I am sure other can add more. Hope that helps.
