"When I created the original Learn To Ride A Skateboard DVD back in 2007, I wanted it to be available for free and I wanted to create the most detailed and thorough skateboarding instructional video ever made. Looking at other videos available for sale and posted on the Internet, I'm proud of the fact that Learn To Ride A Skateboard still provides more information and more detail than any other skateboarding video in the world. I'm stoked to be able to update a few parts and share this Special Edition of the entire Learn To Ride A Skateboard project on YouTube for everyone to enjoy."

yes, thank you, but this only teaches me how ride on a skate park, but i dont have a skate park near me, im in lisburn/northern ireland and skateboarding is not very popular there. I can only ride on the streets and the ground is really rough, so i find it quite hard to skate there. Can you please make a video that teaches you about street skating! Please, I really need it!

@davidpeudov98 - The earlier chapters in this series tell you all about the basics of riding on normal flat terrain.

is it bad that i ride goofy.?
juanolandez 1 week ago
@juanolandez - Nope. There is nothing "right" or "wrong" about being goofy or regular. Either one is fine. Just like surfing and snowboarding - just stand the way which feels the most comfortable. Some people even teach themselves to stand both ways.

Hey Eric, just a quick question, for general skatepark riding should I have my trucks really tight so I can barely turn but it makes tick-tacking easier. Or should I have it really loose so carving is easier? I really love your videos, I was just looking for tips for skatepark but I decided to start from Chapter 1 and I have learnt so much! Thank you!

@Irtehrocker - Depends on what you're trying to do. If you are riding a halfpipe, you usually want tighter trucks. If you are learning to carve bowls/pools/snakeruns, you want looser. I typically say - ride them as loose as you can without getting speed wobbles. Just bring a skatetool with you and experiment. Good luck!
