  • we was lucky we catch a love bird last night and its fat D:

  • Fantastically!!!!!

  • Yes! Thank you! I have tried to read as much as I can about birds and training and behavior!! I was so sad about maxx being so nervous and antisocial that I was determined to turn this bird around and I read a lot about how to do it!! It took forever it seemed, but slowly he started to get better and closer to me!! And one day, I could not believe it, he started bobbing his head, and I thought what the heck is that!! so i started bobbing my head back and that's when he started feeding me!!! :)

  • You are welcome. I can see you have a great understanding of "birdie psychology". It is SO true that screaming or scolding is the WORST thing you can do in reaction to a bite. When my Chicken gets naughty I simply reply with a soft baby voice and he calms right down@!

  • Thank you so much dear friend! I appreciate your kind words! Yes! those fischers are much more fierce! Maxx can really bite!!! He loves to bite my mom, and when she bends over he crawls down her back and bites the skin exposed!!! My poor Mom!! LOL!! TRAVIESO!!!! She always screams and I tell her you cannot do that because they feed off the attention and it reinforces the behavior, but it is too hard for her and i know it hurts her too his bite!!! Birds are so smart! thanks thanks thanks!!!

  • Very cool. I could just tell that Mami was a sweetheart. Kudos on being patient and gaining Maxx's trust. A lot of people would have given up after the first bite. Especially a Fischer's bite... ouch! It was so sad how many lovebirds were given up to the bird sanctuary I worked at. Sometimes we would arrive to work to find a cage full of them simply left on the doorstep. I commend you for the love you've given Maxx and it's clear that it worked ;)
