This leaves the question...If God asks will He find faith ...there will be such a lack of it that if not for HIS grace(unmerited favor) we would all wind up in hell.

We are so lacking in a life of sacrifice I doubt Jesus will come back and find anyone faithful.7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

It's very easy to stand from the safety of salvation and proclaim that we'd gladly trade places with the Savior. Beware the sin of Pride, even in righteous acts. This man was scourged before being crucified. Scourged means there wasn't an ounce of undamaged flesh on his body. Most died while being subjected to it.
I'd like to say I'd gladly change places with Christ and endure what he endured. But when ultimately confronted with certain death and horrific mutilation...I cannot say for certain.

There is not a man that ever lived that would or could take his place. Peter and John that knew him and loved him could not take his place. Jesus is that MAN that God ordained before the foundation of the world to die for all man-kind. Jesus is that MAN that was APPROVED of God, ANOINTED of God and given GRACE by God to taste death for every man. Therefore, by Jesus we believe in God that raised him from the dead that our hope and trust might be in God.
