well, I don't ever use D, and the most common separation of colors is a very quick R2 U' R2. I use Ortega sometimes, when its nice set up to, but for me, since I can look ahead to the next step of guimond very easily and exectue it quickly, guimond is almost always faster
The thing is how is guimond faster? The corner inserting is faster but you have to intuitively shift about the corners to get them right using R2 and U and D moves. ( thats fast but I can't see why Ortega would be slower.
