Yes...he just didn't want to get embarrassed. I know plenty of people with exotics and super luxury cars that are glad to race anything, they are plentiful where I live maybe not where you are....

If that was the R8 V8 version,the STI would've certainly given him a scare.

R8 V8 4.2 L FSI = 428 bhp (horsepower to the crank)
R8 V10 5.2 L FSI = 518 bhp
STi H4 Cosworth 2.5 L = 600 bhp (480 awhp with 20% power loss to transmission)
Doesn't matter which engine it has, the R8 was going to lose up to 140 mph, then would pass the STi (V8 = 185 mph top speed, V10 = 197 mph top speed)
*Most power numbers on the R8 are calculated while running 98 octane fuel*

The moral of the story: If you noticed a Cosworth STI, pretend that you are not in the mood of race and you can avoid the shame. :D
