We have observed this same behavior in our dog for the past two days. It came on overnight and seemed to be induced by excitement. We took Copper to the vet and $1400 dollars later they didn't have an answer. I started searching YouTube and I've seen numerous videos of dogs with "cataplexy/narcolepsy". I think Humphrey and Copper have this disorder. Have you found out more about Humphrey's situation?
It is narcolepsy, he tends to fall asleep for any kind of effort or im not sure ...maybe for any reason i dont know almost nothing about it but maybe cataplexy is involved too because he falls down and that problem involves losing the muscular..tone? i think they lose all strength and falls asleep.
Aww... Poor Humphrey. I do believe he has Narcolepsy.
