I knew Robert and Vicki, wow, it's great to see this performance! They were soooo good! Robert was a talent that should have gotten way more recognition!

Robert was competing in both singles and pairs at the time and qualified in both senior events nationally from 1978 on as well as in the junior events the years before.

Since the spelling of Robert's last name appears on screen as Waggonhoffer, I'd bet on that version.

True. But Vicky Heasley was also exceptionally "springy" even back then. This pair was on its way to the top, when Wagenhoffer decided to focus on this singles career--leaving Heasley high and dry.

I know the actual elements are a lot more difficult now, but it seems like no one has this kind of energy and spring when they skate that they did back then and even through the mid 1990's. It's kind of disappointing. But I love watching this!
