the thing is that Fields character and delivery of his lines is so unbelievably believable. The naturalness of it all is so engaging. It is simply hysterical without seming to try to be hysterical.

i remember once being told that there was some rare home footage taken at one of fields homes he rented that indicates that that nasal drawl was not the normal sound of his voice. is this correct? love the great man!
