Well I think you don't have to read Al-Quran in arabic to understand it. I read it and author added many small notes about exact meaning and historical events.

no where in the quraan it says to kill a jew if they do not accept islam, in Islam is forbidden to force someone to accept Islam. You can only kill them in case of a treason. To understand the quraan you need to know the arabic language instead of reading it in english as they cannot represent the true meaning of the quraan.
