http://www.sitmeanssit.com In my daily dog training video, I ponder the question if both the 'Fetch' and 'Hold' commands are both necessary, or if you can get by with just 'Fetch' for your retriever. Of course you can! Leave your comments!

  • For Police training we use just a bite command and a release command. Different people use different specific words.

  • I like the Fetch command meaning Fetch/Hold. Just like the Sit/Stay as one, to me less commands the better.. set you dog up for success don't confuse them...

  • what about police dog bite work you don't want the dog to let the bad guy Go

    what command you use to get dog to grab the bad guy anyway and it's ok for him to let go or is there another command in place of Hold?
