@elliepupper My 558 was sharp out of the box. After some light stropping for a minute or two it is now very shark. Maybe just lucky me! Great EDC knife.

Great review! I've got quite a few knives (including a now for sale full sized orange Griptilian), but since getting a yellow mini RSK last week, it's easily become my favorite for EDC. I agree that it was surprisingly not very sharp out of the box...I'll blame Benchmade for that. I like to sharpen knives, but it would be nice to carry it before needing to sharpen it.

@elliepupper Yea. I'm not sure why their knives are known for coming not very sharp. You'd think they could fix that and make people happy.

Nice review, thanks! One note about your comments regarding the parkerized finish on the clip. This is an upgrade to the standard painted finish clip. The painted finish easily chips and wears badly. After a short time is really looks poor. The parkerized finish may not be so shiny and pretty looking when new, but it will age more gracefully and will look far better compared to the painted clip after a short period of time. That's why it was selected, even though higher cost.-- Doug Ritter

@dscritter Thanks Doug! Glad you liked the video and I'm honored to have you watch and commenting on it! I annotated the part about the clip wear. Feel free to point out anything I else missed. Its a great knife!
