Carter Family tribute

The simple, haunting sounds of the Carter Family were a huge influence on today's Bluegrass, Folk, Country and even Rock music. It is said that on any given evening, a Carter Family tune is being played somewhere in the world. This tribute shows scenes of a day gone by, and some of the hard-working people who were touched so deeply by the Carter Family music.

i'm not sure i'd believe that a.p. carter wrote this. a lot of the songs copyrighted to him were merely folks songs of unknown origin collected by him and then copyrighted.

AP Carter wrote the song Little Darling Pal of Mine. Woody Guthrie borrowed the tune of When the World's on Fire for his This Land is Your Land.

This is simply great! Nothing like the simplistic, heartfelt music of the Carters; and what a great video presentation as well. Though times were hard, so many of the people in these photos have a BIG smile and a sparkle in their eyes. They were a strong, proud people. . . survivors! People with a deep, abiding faith and determination. People from that era were just made out of differnt "stuff" that today's generation. FIVE STARS!!!!
