Volvo Building Electric Car Test Fleet

Volvo presented a driveable electric car prototype in September 2009. The C30 now being shown in Detroit takes the company one step further in the development process. It features both a complete interior and full instrumentation, as well as enhanced battery packaging.

True but still, my new car must be an electric one. I love the fact that its quiet, no more stinking fumes, and the hours to recharge don't bother me, because i never have to drive large distances. By the way nissan has a prototype that can be fully charged in 30minutes.

I won't drive a weird looking car with skinny wheels and a ugly dash that electric/hybrids cars have had. I want a normal car with electric drive that blends in, not an ugly fashion statement that screams, look at me, I'm green and boring.

yes the Kw/H price has risen but not as much as the oil price has shot up, oil prices fell just after the banks fell apart because people tightened their belts or lost their jobs but now the price is rising again and it will only get worse once economies begin to recover and demand for oil rises again, we need a two pronged approach to the problem, we need to invest like mad in renewable energy and also in electric cars too

It's true that there's no such thing as a free lunch in this life but an electric car will still be cheaper to run than an gas car, you need to look at the cost "per a mile" figures.
