The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon Ill hear old winters song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

  • How very beautiful....What a voice. Such a perfect song. My husband became ill on Oct. 20, and was dying during the next 10 day period as the leaves were turning. The Autumn leaves and colors always remind me of that time. This song brings tears to my eyes and the emotion of longing for him completely engulfs me as I listen to it.

  • This is the VERY first song my mother taught me, and I've NEVER forgotten it......Many years later, when I hear this, I think of her, and how she loved my father, who was a dog, (sorry, dad, but you were!) No one can sing this or bring it to life like NKC, and I mean no one!!!
