I'm not familiar with the Ligeti piece, so I can't say if it was good or not, but I love watching Joshua Roman play.

very cool! from 2:57 you improvise alot on the theme of of ligeti cello sonata right? it's pretty cool, well done man!

honestly joshua roman isn't doing anything incredibly exciting with his cello.... don't get me wrong, the ligeti sonata is hard, but the improvisation at the beginning wasn't that great, honestly only exploring some really really obvious licks that any cellist with half an ounce of brains has already figured out.... as an improvisor he's nothing special
the 2nd mvt of the Ligeti is impressive though..... but then it always is any time it's actually up to tempo....

Extremely well played and interesting, congratulations !

I love this... very cool, the origionality and mix of old school vs. new school really makes this piece interesting, i would pay to go see this!

Joshua Roman = amazing talent. Too bad he's not playing with another musician.

It's called a "Jam Session". The spontaneity of it all makes it what it is. Music isn't only rhythm and melody. It's infinite along with the great melodies of the world.
Absolute. Pure. Unadulterated. Talent. That was amazing. I can't even express in words just how captivating that was. I was going through my subscriptions and only planned on watching the first few minutes. After that, I was hooked, and watched the entire piece. That was. Phenominal. Such talent, such poise, such.. such control. I am speechless. I absolutely loved this. =)

Joshua sounds great even without the other music background/computer sound effects etc.
