Well it IS pretty terrible in comparison.

And unlike you said, first video I found from him had a practically naked woman just there pressing her ass against a glass, being objectified for no reason. That's degrading women.

Every other word is "nigga" or "mothafuckaaaa" or "bitch". He sings about having gold teeth and drinking oxicodone like that's cool.

Let me rephrase myself: It's not pretty terrible in comparison, it's pretty fucking awful whether you compare it to anything or not.

Nonsense? I've wondered a lot about why people keep saying that about Aesop Rock, because to me his lyrics pretty much always make sense while being very clever, on Skelethon at least. Even when they don't I'm willing to admit that it's not that they're nonsense, it's just that I don't get them.

I'd rather have something that I don't get than something that's just "bitch, mary jane, shit, motherfucker, pussy" repeated over and over. That's not quality.

Everyone takes rap seriously, huh. You're comparing two completely different styles of hip hop, which is unfair for A$AP Rocky. He doesn't rap as poetically as Aesop Rock because that isn't his style, which is NY/Southern rap. Arguably, Aesop Rock has better lyricism, yet still comes kind of short on quality compared to A$AP Rocky. Aesop Rock turns quickly into nonsense, and Rocky just compliments his beat choices and moods to his songs really well.

Well A$AP is just the group he's in. And maybe he just likes the movie Rocky. Oh well I'm not trying to defend him or anything Aesop kills him lyrically anyday.

damn, people really need to stop comparing Aesop and ASAp, there's nothing to compare about them, they don't have similar styles, similar topics or similar goals rap. they literally only have similar names.
