  • Unrelated to the content of what is being discussed in the video, but, look at the man sitting behind (I think) Lord Lucas, he is sleeping.

I have seen this sort of thing before, and it really really annoys me, its something which seems to be "ok" with people, this is not what they are paid to do! I'm talking mainly about MPs, but Lords too.

  • It is kind of indicative of the British Legal Sytem that old fart nodding off. He is the sort who would be first to back ACS LAW as he was asleep when it mattered. You are right it is a bloody disgrace. Need to find who he is and WRITE to him

  • Please think about rating and commenting or even to favourite

  • @jjintheuk lords are not paid

  • 5:52 - "I hesitate to use the word innocent, but they haven't been acting illegally". So if they've not done anything illegal, they would be what then, if not innocent?!?

  • @KamLC

"One of those is how much each member of the House of Lords now costs the taxpayer a year - nearly half a million pounds. The total bill for running the House of Lords was £305 million in 2007-08 (the Commons was £364 million).

Some peers now take home more than £47,360 a year for an unpaid job...They receive a laptop, desktop computer and Blackberry."

    - The Times

Yeah but the point is, they cost us millions of pounds to this stuff! MPs are worse creatures when they do this I know.

  • @jjintheuk Lords aren't actually paid a salary, they only receive expenses. So they are different to that of MPs.

  • 4:36 Look at the huge crowd of Lords listening to this speech... all 25 of them.

  • he looks dead lol

  • It's not legal blackmail, it's just blackmail.

I used to fall asleep when I went to lessons at college, but in my defence I wasn't elected to that position, I was only letting myself down. I suppose the old sleeping fart in the background wasn't elected either, but by sleeping through such an important debate he was letting us all down.
