@gbhobson mark of the beast-- means deception, being deceived in your mind by the antichrist , by making you believe he is Jesus, upon his arrival here on earth to be the leader of this new world order. this o.w.o. man creates will not work( it will receive the 'deadly wound", as spoken of in rev.) Antichrist will heal the deadly wound and make the one world system work, but only for a very short time til the real Jesus comes and destroys the entire system!

Okay, but that doesn't answer a couple of questions still:
1) Unless some means of mind-control is implemented, there's still going to be fear, greed, racism, revolt, etc.
2) Concerning the "mark of the beast," it would have to be something acquired willingly. Having such forcefully applied against ones' own freewill shouldn't be held against them?
3) In the advent surviving people *are* reduced to mere cattle, the ones with the insatiable lust for power are soon left unsatisfied again?
