Islam in the Philippines

At the end of world war II, Islam has seen great growth worldwide. The Philippines was no exception, The Filipino Muslim community has built many new mosques and religious schools in the twenty-first century, and hajj pilgrimages have increased.

Everyday, Rich, poor, ordinary and celebrity Filipinos enter into the fold of Islam. Dawah is now being led by the new Muslims or converts. Inshallah, one day Islam will once more be the majority religion in the Philippines.

Like I said before, Muslims don't blame themselves or Islam for their miserable conditions. It's always the Christians or the West or the Jews or anybody but Muslims who are at fault.

I didn't comment on the atrocities comitted by the Spaniards which I'm sure the Muslims are also guilty so don't digress to another topic. Don't make sweeping statements like all the women in our country were raped (really?) and the men enslaved and took all lands and resources. Check your history and you'll be surprised. Spain was in fact subsidizing their colonization of the Philippines meaning they were holding on to their colony at a loss.

@aguabendito Oh yeah, check the history my friend before the Spaniards shove down Christianity in the Filipinos' throats after they raped all the women, enslaved the men and took all their lands and resources, call the Filipinos "Indios" after preventing access to education. They maybe poor physically but they are rich spiritually and intellectually...I just thought I'd share a taste of Philippine history just in case you were absent that day.

Stop sugarcoating Islam. Christians are actually the majority in Mindanao. There are only a handful of Muslim-majority provinces out of a total of 26 provinces in Mindanao.

Muslim-majority provinces are among the poorest in the whole country. Muslims don't blame themselves for their miserable condition. It's always the Christians who are at fault.
