  • @ThePersevest- Right, there were female students at conservatoires during that time, not necessarily universities. In fact, Chopin wrote his Piano Concerto # 2 while he was at the Warsaw Conservatoire when he was passionately in love with a female vocal student.

  • @anonymousQ45 actually the question should be how could someone become a concert pianist by going to conservatory?, conservatories just kill the talents, in fact, Rimsky korsakov said to Satravinsky: "don't go to conservatory, it's not for you"
