Zero's Sabre - Mega Man X6 (3)

The third of four parts.

Now contains WATCHABLE High Max and Gate fights.

Nighmare Mother: I think this genuinely contends with the original Infinity Mijinion fight for difficulty. Certainly it's the hardest battle with Zero. That's not just because Mijinion is easier comparitively when using the guy. Zero genuinely has a much rougher time than X here. The required close proximity makes thing you could play around with like the blue orbs and the lightning attack highly, highly inconsistent to dodge. Also, Level 4 introduces an unheard level of bullshit, because the cubes combine patterns and attacks that I wouldn't dodge on their own merits four fifths of the time, let alone consecutively in a full fight.

Furthermore, did I rant enough about the lightning attack in the X run? I don't think I did. That pondered, IT'S FUCKING HORSESHIT! What kind of sick mind puts an attack that you literally CANNOT prepare to dodge in a battle that already has all kinds of nonsense going on? You know what the strategy is here? Stand in spots you think might possibly perhaps be lucky maybe. It's idiocy.

I'll never call this as painful as my first fight with Mijinion because that was a saga in and of itself, and here I had 90% of the strategy down from the X run. However, upon recording both sets of videos, I can honestly say that in the final tally this took me more attempts than any other battle with either character.

High Max: Again, I let him play this time. He eschews his colliding barriers gimmick in light of a few new tricks. Nothing is worth mentioning, really, until his upgrade on the first round's desperation attack, which you basically incite by pissing him off too badly. Slash the bejesus out of his barriers and he'll throw down in the center of the room with an ironically easier to avoid version of his orb nonsense from the first battle. This cuts the length of the fight in half and is good fun. Also, being easier to dodge doesn't mean it's easy to dodge period.

Gate: Gate's a pretty cool guy. Too bad his fight's boring as shit. I invoked patience this time around, and studied his behaviors enough to get him spawning spheres somewhat more consistently, so you aren't watching five minutes of him hovering in deep thought. A lot of it still falls to just waiting for a lucky fight, though. I also let them wreck a little havoc here and there, but not much. It IS a pretty difficult battle, all things said. Ironically, I think Level 4 made it less painful, as he's not as likely to float towards you several times in a row.

Also, viewing might as well stop here. Next is Sigma. He has a standalone video. Zero is using his sabre. There are no other means to damage him other than the Z-buster and that would take 30 minutes. I think you know where I'm going with this. Watch it if you enjoy revenge.

i HATE THOSE CUBES! mijinion i can take down, only because i make clones my priority (i can dodge shit, but when i start letting them go theres just too many orbs) but those god forsaken cubes...oh my GOOOOOOOOOOD! i hate those bastards! and one time, i killed one cube, and thought that it couldnt hurt me anymore, and it killed me. ur seriously great at this game
