  • Impressive vid. I like the fact that the subject of your vid is a single person- or mummy (Harwa), rather than a whole civilization. It's a personal encounter with an individual who lived thousands of years ago; in a world so remote of our own.

    5 stars.

  • Thanks, Kushite123. I almost feel like I've come to know Harwa, having been with him in the Egyptian collection at our museum for so many years. Research about his time and place have helped to fill in the blanks, but I always try to remember that this mummy was not a thing--he was a man with a family and a job of which he was very proud.

  • Loved the video. Good info and now I'll go back and appreciate the display even more. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks, Chrisk36. Harwa is one of our favorites at the Field Museum. I hope you come back and see him soon. It's always nice to meet a fellow Chicagoan. :-)

  • @kmtsesh. oh Mate, wouldn't it be great if there was a time machine and we could go back and see all of this as it was then. I just had a funny thought, if those afronuts went they would still say its bullshit and tell the real Egyptians that they were not who they were,
