@RCrudi These are excellent cars for the price...Yes deans s all we use here...i have never had connectors get hot or fail and i run 40c 2-4s lipo 5000 in my boats...Maybe there are better plugs, but i definitely perfer them over the old tamaya's which i stopped using a long time ago

Hi Mate, we've had 8 HSP's and no cut outs or stuttering problems. They are budget cars aimed at the hobby/play market so some of the parts are made a little cheap and can snap. Your problem sound electrical, motor/esc fault or a receiver twitch. We’ve not experience electrical problems (other than after soaking them) so yours must have just been an unfortunate irregular glitch. Seeing as they are so cheap I would ask for a replacement.

@roadstar499 Thanks for the feedback... At the time we had 12 batteries with Tamiya connectors. It seemed a lot of hassle to change all the connectors on them so we changed the ones on the car – plus 15 odd years ago Tamiya was the only way… since making the video we have learned a lot. We have since invested in some Lipo’s so have gone back to Deans. When I get time I will edit the clip to say this. We should be starting some more videos soon (HSP XSTR, and some planes too).

Dean plugs are the best ..don't see the point of cutting them off
Yes HSP sucks, it keeps cutting out while its moving. Reverse doesnt work most of the time. It stutters on take off. Not to mention when they "fixed" it - it had more problems when i got it back with absolutely no tread left on the tires !

@MMAfuel Also, the factory settings of the ESC are like most cars with brushless – pulling back on the stick acts as a brake, you can only reverse after the car has stopped and you have relaxed the stick/trigger back to neutral position and back again. Unlike brushed motors, brushless do not take well to being shunted in reverse whilst running in forward. A bit frustrating to start with but soon get used to it. The settings can be changed with regards to the brake and reverse.

honestly, hsp is suck !!
akiduzair 8 months ago
@akiduzair Thanks, Can you elaborate? What bad experiences you have had and on which model? ‘Suck’ depends on what your expectations are… they are no good for proper club racing (pro) but we have found them good for having a few mates with the identical cars having a couple of hours racing in a carpark (parking lot) or on a dirt track. This is one of the compromises, cheap = lower quality, but all your mates can afford to have one meaning lots of people to race. Again… expectation.

Hey men whats top speed of the car or a average speed????
otaner142 8 months ago
@otaner142 Hi, the media that came with the car claimed 50-60mph but we do not have the speed gun equipment to verify this. The nitro warhead claimed to have a top speed of 60+ and it kept up with it (see end of video). Not sure I can believe the advertising myself without them backing it up with speed gun evidence? They are bloody quick for a budget car, once you have mastered the throttle to reduce the wheel spin.
