This tutorial will cover the following: Using the editable poly modifier and selecting multiple polys. Inside the edit poly modifier we also use the extrude and bevel modifiers to manipulate the shape of the object. As well as using the Multi/Sub-Object texturing technique.

Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate

With this Modeling with 3ds Max we will be modeling a book. This low poly book would be perfect for any scene or game model. Just follow how I do it step by step and you'll be able to get the same results as I did. If you have any questions just comment. Please rate and subscribe!

This is my new series of 3ds Max tutorials to help you increase your skills with 3ds Max and create your own game models. All you have to do is subscribe and you will be updated every time I release a new tutorial. I will try to have new videos every 2 or 3 days that will show you how to build everything you need, from game objects and props, to characters and environment models.

  • @gevelegian These aren't your videos and I could care less about your opinions. Maybe this is really easy for people who've been using Max for years (like my self) but for beginners this is a beginner level. The whole concept of these tutorials isn't focused on people who are good at using Max, but for people who are just starting out and are unfamiliar with the program. Maybe I'll make tutorials for professionals (such as myself) and maybe you'll be able to keep up...

  • @ImmortalKingAnmtn You say you are proffesional ? you cant even texture a book right. stupid kid...

  • @Danuxsy Are you serious? Everyone look at his book video! Your book is no different than mine "kid". Actually mine is better because I have curves and depth to my book model, your's is a just a square with some google searched texture. And since your talking so big I will put a video out just for you to show you one of my better books that wasn't part of a tutorial, one where I didn't have to keep it simple to help out others.

You think you're better? Don't watch my videos "kid" I'm 22

  • when did a simple book tutorial become a war between 2 users?

  • you are great dude..you help me very much with your tutorials...keep up the good work.i will expect from you more tutorials!

  • @ImmortalKingAnmtn fack XD

  • @ImmortalKingAnmtn MAYBE I'LL BE ABLE TO KEEP UP? HA! Go and daydream somewhere else bro :) I find it very funny that when someone challenges you, instead of proving me wrong, you just whine and bitch about what a great artist you are... YEA, RIGHT

  • @demondeano Makig a dick out of myself? Yeah I'm not saying WOW I knew this already, I was saying that you have to know ALOT more before starting to act all knowing and making tutorials, because there are easier ways to learn the same thing u did here and if new users adopt the "wrong" method then you are doing more bad than good. With all due respect, I don't want to start a "e-fight". Goodbye! Happy modelling!

  • @gevelegian You clearly didnt come out the womb knowing everything there was to know about modelling software, so keep your negative comments to yourself, people like you piss me off. If you have nothing postive to say then dont say anything and shut your trap because your making a dick out of yourself posting comments like that!

  • @sangemaru UVW is beginner stuff. If you dont kno that you cant make textures for your models to import to games. GAMES IS THA FUTURE :)

  • @Danuxsy That's not really beginner stuff. UVW unwrapping deals with texturing, not modeling. Same for all the other maps you mentioned.

Of course, defining 'beginner' is relative, but it's a pretty sure bet that someone watching this video who doesn't already know how to model a book IS a beginner.

  • @ImmortalKingAnmtn Where is your uvw unwrapping? the normal and speculare map ? where is the lightmap ? kid.
