  • @longines85 Maybe the piano is a little bit to metric instead of agogic, but with terrible you throw mud that falls back - on you!

  • The piano is absolutely terrible! I had to stop in the middle of the song. It sounded like repeated hammering. This is the most subtle song on earth and has to be played as soft as possible. If you don't agree see the other recordings of this song on youtube....

  • this song is extremely difficult, and paloma sings it with beautiful voice and musical ly correct. the articulation of the german text is really not very good, but so far i have not known any spanish singer with a decent german accent.

  • She just looks terrified. And she should be, clearly this is difficult for her.

  • I was puzzled as there are many good elements and I found this from her also:

watch?v=VxDTWZqM2l8 You have to see her in another context

  • I agree, German is not good, moreover, Lied must show a connection between singer and pianist, more that any other art form, esp Schumann (as a pianist) his piano is fundamental, this pianist is great, but the singer is not connected and her legato suffers hence the performance does! Shame!

  • Oh well... You caaaan understand her, I think, but the articulation could really be better. Let's take into account that she's singing, so not articulating the same way we do when we're talking, but still - I don't think she knows what she's singing, either : / The interpretation is pretty poor. Still, the notes are clear : )

  • MMMH, well, you could not understand the text- during the whole performance! As a German I am disappointed!

  • I am exhausted just watching her think. She's listening SO HARD and with good reason....this piece could go horribly wrong if you aren't concentrating. Great energy in the voice, really felt like you were moving it forward. Lovely.

  • Exactly! I would like to hear her singing a telephone book...charming but rather

body builing presentaion of the vocal cords ;-)
