@snowingspoon All the research I have seen shows that larger water changes are much more efficient than regular small water changes for controlling nitrates and other elements in the tank and up to 40% more efficient! that would save on alot of salt over time and there are times when i may HAVE to do a large water change! This is why I want the flexibility and the option of the amount that i change. If i can do it then I am going to. Just waiting for a response from pump suppliers!

@snowingspoon heavy night the night before probably took its toll too!
The system is looking amazing. I agree on the pump in the tank looks bad with all you have done. After spending over 9700 Euro on the system, there is no way you can leave the pump in that location. lol. Also, hearing you say Bullocks made me laugh. We don't hear it very often in the US. lol.
Your budget makes me sick thinking of what I will have to spend to have something 1/2 as nice. lol. Great update!

@adjusterfrank haha Thanks Frank! Love your comments as always, they keep me inspired on this build. When i look at US prices compared to UK i cant help thinking I could have done this build for at least 30% cheaper over there! You guys have much more options for better prices.
Bollocks is a common expression over here ;)
Should get the self priming pump tomorrow so will have fun seeing if it works!

I have set up an automatic water change system with my tank and instead of pulling the water from my display tank I pull it from the sump. I use an Apex controller and with the use of some float switches in my sump I was able to write a program that would shut off my return pump drain the sump and then refill it with new saltwater (use the float switches for level) and then turn the return pump back on. Not sure if this would work for you but it's a thought.

@jayhawkscott I thought of doing this as everyone i've seen automates water changes from the sump. Ive read alot of research and seen tests that say larger water changes are up to 40% more efficient at controlling nitrates and other elements in the water so I decided to automate large water changes from the tank. The final stage in my sump is small and i wouldnt be able to do that much from in there. even though i have never seen anyone do this, I am going for it! Thanks for the tip though man!

Yeah, I agree that having that pump in the tank like that really kills the overall look. Hopefully a nice external pump will do the trick! Haha told you that software update for the lights was sweet! How about a clip of the thunderstorm mode, now that you can just click a button for it?

@wesleyforbes Yeah it looked nasty!
Yeah why not? Ill do the thunderstorm video tonight ;) have ordered the pump i needed, wasn't cheap but eh? in for a penny in for a pound!
