Sonic Generations Demo - Speed Run (51.85 sec)

*Note* Wasn't going for the fastest time I could possibly get, just a good run for the night I downloaded this demo, and I'm pretty happy with what I got :)

As of today, it's officially been 20 years since "Sonic The Hedgehog" first hit the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) way back in 1991. It was the first game I ever played on the Genesis, and the original Sonic trilogy (the third game being Sonic 3 & Knuckles since that was the REAL Sonic 3) is one of my favorite series of games on any system. No matter what you or I or anyone else might think about the Sonic series today, the Genesis games will always be perfect examples of great classics.

If you're wondering if this is really all you get with the demo...well...yes, this is all you get. No levels with Modern Sonic, no boss fight, just this one Act, but how much are you going to expect in a demo? I had a great time with it, and the updated version of Sonic 1's Green Hill Zone felt familiar and new at the same time. The controls are a little stiff, and it did take a couple times to get used to it, but that didn't take long at all, and I ended up having a blast with this demo (I think it's much better than Sonic 4...not saying that one's bad, though). It was a great way to waste a couple hours of my time, and I hope the overall game impresses me just as much. Don't get me started on how nostalgically awesome the remixed music is, though =D

Quick question for everyone in the comments. What do you think sounds better: Robotnik or Eggman? (I personally think Robotnik sounds more badass)

@Gumbrcules35roe The modern Sonic levels look like they'll be pretty good, too. I think Sega was starting to get back on the right track with Unleashed, Colors and Sonic 4, but there were certain things that held them back. It looks like Sega's really trying to make sure there's nothing like that in this one. Chances are there will be some problems, but if they can pull off the game as a whole, it just might be a huge comeback for the Sonic franchise.

robotnik sounds WAY better. Also it seems really hard to follow Sonic on screen and when you spindash how do you avoid stuff like spikes if you don't know it's already coming? It seems like the spindash is a bit too jolting.
