Before speculation on whether or not Perry is a closet hypocrite, I would consider the lists of positives and negatives of mutual association, and conclude if I was Gay, I would not want to learn that Perry was too. He is right, smack dab in the middle of representative embrace by a constituency who deserves his rhetoric and talents, to remind everyone what the face of intolerance, hypocrisy and mendacity looks like. Considering the hardships that beset America now, Perry provides a fine example of why in the executive chair he would be utterly useless.
Can there be any more useless rhetoric from this candidate? Let's set aside the Gay issue for a moment and address an issue Perry can truly illuminate; that corporations are people too, as the Supreme Court determined. If corporations are people too, Perry could provide significant evidence by having Texas execute one.
We need Rick Perry. We need to hear his homophobic intolerance for different people. We need his dialogue to include Texas secession, separating him with distinguishment from one of the original republicans (Lincoln) whom modern leadership republicans hardly could resemble less. We need to see how polar opposite is a Perry who suggests secession from a Lincoln who aged in anguish in a struggle to prevent it. We need to see the difference between a Lincoln who recognised that equality must be extended to people who are different, from a Perry who does not.
Pat Robertson recently warned that God will punish America for her developing attitude and policy toward Gays and Lesbians. Perhaps God already did. Perhaps He provided the hysterical right the choice of Newt, Mitt, Paul, Sanitorum, Bachmann, Perry and possibly Trump. Could God possibly punish the hysterical right any more for their poor representation, intolerance, and hypocrisy? Even Robertson said this crew is at risk for a trouncing by Obama, and are bunch of crazies. If he said that about them, then they must REALLY be nutz!
Therefore it would appear God is blessing the democrats for their stand and courage, by giving them the way and means to continue their efforts to end the irrational perscution and intolerance of private matters that are nobody else's business.
Thanks to Michael Richards and Fridays for portrayal of the young Rick Perry
In Perry's ideal world, there exists only White, Heterosexual, Protestant people who embrace the motto, "In Greed We Trust," put Corporations ahead of the individual, Business ahead of ethics, and just wish the Poor, the Non-White, the Elderly, the LBGT comunity, the jobless/homeless, and Non-Protestant people would just drop dead.
Yeah.... A real Ideal World for an ignorant, selfish, wanna-be dictator. No, Thanks. I'll Pass....
