Student views on Edinburgh Napier University

On 25th February 2009, Napier University announced that we have changed our name to Edinburgh Napier University. By changing the name we hope to raise the profile of the University internationally, and is part of an exercise to extend the reach and reputation of the University for our alumnus, staff and future students.

Napier's problem is that it lets anybody in the door. They do that because they need the numbers, and the money that they bring in. Consequently, they are trying to "bake a cake" using crap "ingredients". I was told on the quiet by a lecturer that they expected a drop off of around 45% after the first year, and that turned out to be the case. Many of my fellow students were lazy and thick, and didn't want to be at university. They viewed it as being just more years at school.
