Was available to download for free from itunes at a time, unsure if this is still possible... probably costs money now that their fanbase has grown so much.

  • Is this still on itunes?

  • @Proof1280 ... don't think so, nor is it any longer on the hard drive of my shitty old computer that crashed... I'll make sure to keep up on here though. Sorry about that.

  • where almost every song the arcade fire does attempts some kind of religious climax, these guys convey emotion with class and restraint. i find something new every listen, and they don't have to shove it down my throat. i love it.

  • i believe that's "All the Wine" from Alligator

  • @MrTrinklied

    Alligator > TOTBL

    Boxer > TOBL

    High Violet > TOBL

You can deny it, but you would be wrong.

  • @WilliPatton I don't agree, they are both equally great

  • @Stull92 The national had poor first albums and then they started to make amazing albums

Interpol had amazing first 2 albums and then they went downhill repeating the same stuff over again

  • the old Brian Eno quote! beautiful things come from shit !

  • I have liked the National since 2005, they have three very good albums but NEVER have they released an album of comparable quality to the debuts of Interpol (which influenced them) or Arcade Fire. Admittedly, the past three albums they made trump anything else by either band but IMO I'll take Funeral or TOTBL over this band 's discog any day.

  • gotta love finding stuff from the Alligator period, i think that's definitely one of the best records they've made

  • thank you for uploading!i love this band

  • @WilliPatton So you got something against "religious climaxes" to songs? I love both bands. arcade fire is more emotional and passionate in my opinion though

  • @stankler I hope you feel like an absolute tit now that The National's greatness is being recognised. e.g. World tour, sold out London in minutes + Q magazine featured them SIX times in their last issue.

    Hah.
