hi,
i'm Character artist for the video game industry and it's one of my character.
Virtools is a middleware, a 3d engine with nodal behavior interaction. (i'm not really a programmer :)). the hand interaction is definitly cool, but seems very hard to reproduce in virtools. do you have some links talking about this ?
Thanks !

Really cool 3D character! Do you have a web site?
For the hand interaction, start to search with google "skind detection". There are more complex detection methods (based on hand posture recognition), but a suggest to you to start with something simpler... :)

Hi !
very nice demo ! very robust tracking.
How works the hand interaction?
Thanks !
Guybrush.

Hi,
i have seen your video and i found it very interesting. Where did you find the 3D model? What is virtools?!?
The tracking is so stable because i use a more complex segmentation algorithm than artoolkit and the backgound is completely white (and the illumination conditions are stable...).
For the hand interaction, i am investigating the use of per-pixel methods (using some type of heuristics or a more complex approach, like a gaussian and so on...).
