  • ...... sprint a mile?!?!? World record time is 4:12.75. CFers can function completely anaerobic for a nonstop 4-6minutes?? I gotta see this post a vid!!!

  • @strengthcamp there is a technical definition for sprinting mate, don't worry I use to say the same thing. It has something to do with hip opening up or rotation or something

  • @JakobNielsson Wrong. Just because you train everything, does not mean you get better at everything. That is exactly the definitions of "specialization" and "prioritization" and "periodization". CrossFit fails to mean any of these standards that are essentially laws in the fitness realm that allow one to get better at a particular activity.

    If you only train to lift heavy weights maybe once a month, when will you ever get better at it? You get better at something by DOING IT SPECiFICALLY.

  • I recommend anyone interested in CF to go to their website and read "What is fitness?", its an awesome article about CF and training in general, also interesting to read, even if you dont want to do CF. You can also just google "What is fitness".

  • @Sully1111 Doing CF workouts will make you better at CF but not much more? Now that CF is running, rowing, olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, powerlifting, kettlebell training and more then I'd say that you get better at pretty much everything if you get better at CF workouts. See my point? IMO CF might be the least "specialized" or niche sport there is, especially compared to PL or BB. CF increases power, strength, speed, flexibility, endurance, you name it. I'd say pretty useful for everyone.
