I am very disappointed with this video. an OB is a trained surgeon, and great during a high risk pregnancy, but during a normal pregnancy, a midwife is wonderful. Also, many midwives work WITH an OB and deliver in a hospital or birth center setting.

@Imsofliipincool LOL!!! you're totally right!! creeepy.

i love how its controlled to try to force you to NOT have a home birth! Clearly its been going on for YEARS or we wouldnt be here!

Up until last year (I think it was last year....) Midwives were illegal where i lived. But with that said, I thought this video was not to give information but to push people to give births in hospitals. I think a woman has a right to chose where she wants to give birth and also WHO delivers the baby. But with that said, I think that the mother has to make her decision based on her pregnancy and health and everything that could really make the biggest difference ever.

the faces at 0:25 are not the real faces! plus, they look kind of scary attached to those bodies

I agree with her. I wish she elaborated more about direct entry midwives and certified professional midwives in the U.S., who are NOT NURSES and preside over dangerous homebirths without the formal medical education or resources that are needed. Somebody needs to pull the plug on NARM. Their applications office is based on a Tennessee commune with a history of wife swapping and marijuana cultivation. Look it up!

lmao! is this video for real? come to Australia and see what us midwives do here..

poor poor america... even their docters don't know what they are talking about

This video is biased toward hospitals making money.
As a midwife, I am very disappointed with this information. Midwives CAN give pain medication and order epidurals......WAY TOO MUCH MISINFORMATION!!! Try again, please....next time get it right.

To say that midwives cannot adminster emergency services is blatantly false. Midwives are trained to deal with emergencies - they might not do c/sections but they don't sit on their hands in an emergency! This is awful,
