@AAJawSurgeryJoural Hi, I just went to a dentist check up an hour ago, recalling about couple years ago, I was recommended to see an orthodontist. For me, surgery is not my thing but I can say, your surgery from before and currently after operation seems to be looking good! Thanks for sharing!

Hello, I'm entering university and I have a noticeable under bite. My parents are struggling financially and I have no clue how I'm going to pay for school and a massive bill for the braces and jaw correction. Are there any insurance available and how did you pay for all of this?
How much did it cost total? consultations, braces, surgery etc..
Thanks!

TY!Yes I can breath freely and talk absolutely the same.As a matter of fact, to me it seems that the draining of my sinuses is way better than before.I do not know for sure if this surgery is the reason but it seems that my throat does not get as sore when I have a could. My upper jaw was moved forward. It took about a month or two from what I remember for my sinus or nose or whatever it was to reconnect before I could feel secure enough to blow my nose.i was scared at first great now
-
Congratulations for your new Looks........Can you breath from your nose as freely as before.did the new position of you nose affect your Talk ( You might feel as if you have a congested nose) .Thank you very much indeed.
-
Yes Upper Jaw surgery forward. I am trying to remember.... Major swelling down after 2 weeks and stitch under the nose about 2 to 3 months. Able to talk in about 3 weeks.
THANK YOU!!! :)

from beautiful to gorgeous

Hi Angela correct me if I'm wrong I believe you had upper jaw surgery where they move your upper jaw forward. My question is how long did it take for to recover meaning you stop having that chipmunk face and can talk normal again?
-
do u have fillings? :)
-
could you do a closeup of your braces and all of the wires because i'm thinking of getting them ... please
-
@MrGUERO1984 You are such a sweetheart... thank you. Yes I was on pain meds for a about 2 to 3 weeks I think. There was only one moment on the 2nd day I didn't take it at 4 in the morning and IT WAS PAINFUL! But... I didn't make that mistake again. What can be tough is when you are able to chew again and you really can't because you are soooooo tender. I still to this day have an issue biting into pretzels or something crunchy like that. The hardest part is hunger pains when u cant eat solid

@AAJawSurgeryJoural clinicians that put them on me - she has braces, as well

Braces can be very annoying when they cut into my cheeks, stain and how they appear in pictures. Although the braces themselves never bothered me. I actually think they made me look younger... lol! ;) They have been on a lot longer than I expected that is for sure! But you forget they are there. I can hardly wait to get my teeth whitened. ;) Get lots of Wax... And they do not look bad at all... actually they look great! And you are already chewing away on the gum. :)

Wow - what a really nice difference. I am so glad that I never needed the surgery option - but good for you for taking the plunge! Your profile looks really good now. So what has the whole braces experience been like for a 36 year old? That is how old I am and I got my braces on last week. Check out my vids. Iam still very uncomfortable with them.
My son had lower jaw surgery last week. Our Gov't plan covered it, so I assumed it was for "medical &/or dental" reasons. I'm just wondering, do you actually find a difference with chewing, or breathing? On the web, it seems like it's for cosmetic reasons only! Just wondering....

Yes I was told I needed it because of the bite and what I would do to my teeth if I didn't. I would eventually grind them shorter and shorter because of the way my jaw was.My lower jaw did not develop all the way. So they pulled my lower teeth where they should have been with the braces giving me an underbite. Then 2 years later they did the upper jaw surgery moving my upper jaw forward. I am still not 100% with my bite. I will post a video explaining as promised this weekend.

how much did it cost you in total. and how long did it takes you to get recovered??
Ssumable 9 months ago
@Ssumable - my sugery and braces were somewhere around 28,000. I thought insurance covered it but it didn't for me. So I had to pay for it out of my pocket. I am still paying on it with Care Credit. I am still not fully recovered. I have to have 4 root canals now and I am not happy about this. Dealing with this right now.
So sorry for the delayed response. I did not realize I had all the comments.
