Not sure if this is a GFX card issue but it looks like it, this system has been getting steadily worse and now this is what happens when it boots.

At the end of the XP load screen it just goes black, PC still running but nothing on the screen at all.

Anyone have any ideas?

UPDATE:

Well its pretty conclusive that its a GPU (Graphics Card) problem!

  • bake it in the oven for 7-8 min on 200C

  • put away the cooler and the plastic cover and put it in your furnace at 200 degrees celsius for 10minutes. It will work I swear!!!

    BAKE IT!!!

  • Never bake it in the oven those retards that advice you to do it deserve to be shot! Not all components are heat resistant you may also easily fry VRAM chips which aren't heat resistant and due to overheat many parts like those tiny square capacitors and resistors on the circuit board may simply fall off due to melted soldering tin. Always use a heat gun, and some sort of metal can that protects other components from heat air. Do not attempt to use oven unless you are not planning fixing anythin

  • @ubergammer00 It's most likely overheating. This used to happen to me a lot too before when I had my good ol' g210 ahaha. Anyways, take the graphic card out (If it isn't integrated) and clean the fan and heatsink. It probably is filled with dust, which mine was. After that, you should not have a problem again. Btw, it's called MAINTENANCE hahahah

  • @halosparten3 well I don't know exactly what's happening but a friend of mine had almost the same problem and he had no warranty any more so we put it into the oven because we had nothing to lose because if it hadn't worked he would have bought a new graphics card and when the graphicscard would be a casserole he would also buy anew one so we put into the oven for 10 minutes and after it it worked again so it's no crap!

  • @gelutze what does that accomplish exactly, does it reflow the solder or what, im not understanding why people are baking their electronics.

  • @MegaJohnnybravo123 , I got the same nv4_display problem on my Lenovo 3000 N20. It seems like the video card is going bad. You can replace the video card, or I found a temporary fix..is that you may want to remove the video driver on your computer, then it may work since it will not look for this nv4_display anymore. It will just use the Windows generic display. You won't have all the best performance for the video card though. Also, changing the 16bits to 32bits resolution.

  • i have a problem can some one help?

when ever i go to launch my games on my pc itll run fine but with out any lag before hand or glitches my game will just flash to a dark blue or dark green colour and the music will still be playing or audio for about 5 seconds then it makes a loud buzzing noise and i have to unplug my pc because i lose all control i dont know if this is an outdated or dying video or graphics card isssue a ramm problem or what? please can some one help me?

  • so whats the problem with this.

Im getting this screen, and also the nv4_display dll message blue screen everytime.. my drivers are the latest..

    i dnt get it

  • @HaloHamstur, Not always. It sometimes messes up the screen. I am pretty sure this was a GPU failure, but the uploader never updated the information.

  • the only way to solve this probleme is remplace gfx card
