  • looks like soap suds going down my shower drain

  • Very pretty, but a spiral galaxy actually has a much lower differential rotation due to dark matter, nearly constant angular velocity with radius.

  • "Very few similarities other than shape."

I'm thinking the characteristics he was talking about were just how it looks.

Besides its more like a galaxy anyways >.>

  • I disagree. What, other than shape from a bird's eye view, do these things have in common? The mechanism: heat release vs. gravity? No. The outflow of particles sucked into the eyewall? No. The self-sustaining shape of a hurricane over warm waters vs. collapsing particles into a denser mass? No. Very few similarities other than shape.
