This is Stelephant Colbert, the satellite tagged northern elephant seal named after Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report. Stelephant was named in an education and outreach event called Elephant Seal Homecoming Days at TOPP.org.
Stelephant wore satellite tags for the past 7 months, and recently had them recovered. Now Stelephant is battling to be come one of the dominant males at the busy harems at Ano Nuevo State Reserve in Northern California. Follow Stelephant through is journey at TOPP.org!
