@sonicgen20 And your telling me that the scene with optimus fighting 3 decepticons like megatron, starscream, and the chopperbot and owning them wasn't over the top ? or when the giant metal worm was destroying buildings, i could go on and on of over the top moments in the movies, but the thing is that your wrong saying that the movies can't do what the show is doing. Eat me !!!

@sonicgen20 Well, Optimus has a deep respect for all life, so maybe he was hoping he could subdue Megatron and bring him to trial for his actions. He underestimated Megatron's power (and evil), but once he realized that...well, see above.

@Marzniper14 I'm pretty sure it's because Transformers Prime series is animated and allowed to be as over the top as it wants to be. The movies are designed to follow a realistic aproach.

So it took Optimus until just now to figure out that Megatron isn't gonna change his ways. Can you imagine Megatron, especially the Transformers Prime Megatron turning to the side of good, those red eyes and sharp teeth aren't very fitting for an Autobot.
