http://www.ClassicBanjoRM.com Another couple of Irish-American banjo pieces from A. Baur's 'The Banjoist's Budget' of c.1880. The first is quite odd, and great fun to play. baur seems to combine elements of the older 'minstrel stroke style' of repertoire with the new 'guitar style' . The banjo is an original by SS Stewart, one of the Big Names is 19th-century banjo making, and dates from c.1880. It some ways it too looks backwards to the minstrel period, but in other respects is looking forward to the so-called 'elevated' banjo of the 1890s. Both the music and the instrument are here caught at a crossroads.

  • Nice harmonies. This sounds like what I imagine classical banjo is like. Good job, huh!

  • Sounds really good ;)
