"I began to think I was gifted," Camisha Callis says about the Germanna Community College Workforce & Community Education phlebotomy program. She and Sherry Judy have always wanted to work in health care. Now they have careers as phlebotomy technicians with Mary Washington Health Care thanks to the Germanna Community College Center for Workforce & Community Education. And now they believe they can go on to become registered nurses.
The 180-hour program prepares students for a variety of health care settings. It includes anatomy, physiology and clinical laboratory experience.
Classes run from Sept. 12, 2011 to Dec. 01, 2011 at the Fredericksburg Area Campus in Spotsylvania. For more information, go to http://www.germanna.edu/workforce/ or call 540/891-3095.
