@QueenAnime99 and JixMa of course :-) that was the whole point of the show. It was satire. That type of humor was Huge in the late 60's. Otherwise, explain the Bat-Shark Repellent. For kids, it was an adventure show. For adults, the satire and spoofs went over the kids heads and went straight to the grown-ups, KINDA like Police Squad but a tad more subtle.
Jill St. John has the distinction of portraying the only character, villain or otherwise,in the 1960s Batman TV series, to die on camera, for the entire 3 year run, including the Batgirl spin-off. All the other villains simply escaped, or were taken to Gotham Jail. Strange that they did it in the pilot episode.
@JixMa This was made in the 60s and was a kids tv show so get over it.
