Google "Digestion & GI Health" - it's an article for women but applies to men as well. Best summary I've seen. Many people have too little acid (hypochlorhydria) not to much - and it leads to problems which *feel* like too much acid, but aren't. Basically, you have too little stomach acid and your digestion sucks; this causes burping etc. which brings acid up into your esophagus (even a TINY bit of acid burns like crazy). Key is to get digestion back on track, which is definitely doable.

If the problem is with the Pyloric sphincter malfunctioning or staying CRAMPED like a muscle in your leg get when cramped, then this is a deficiency of magnesium......Magnesium lowers blood pressure, heart beat, Inflammation, Cancer risk, diabetes risk, gallstones risk, etc., so take it for LIFE because we don't get it in our diet or FILTERED WATER and soda.........100 years ago people didn't get Osteoporosis because they drank water straight out the ground.

Good advice, I do not know what is counter-acting the gastric acid from the stomach to dissolve the food since I have not researched this disease much. But it appears to me that it is either caused by some bug in the stomach neutralizing the acid which causes the stomach to keep filling with acid until it gets into the esophagus, OR IT COULD BE CAUSED by the Pyloric sphincter not opening so the stomach keeps filling!

At end of 2 weeks where you have HOPEFULLY eaten at least 6-8 small meals and protein drinks to HEAL the damaged tissue, YOU WILL START taking cayenne pepper pills about 30 minutes to an hour before meals. Start with just 1 tablet a day, next go to 2, until you reach 3-4 daily and keep taking all the others vitamin c, L-Lysine, msm or garlic, magnesium, b-vitamins.
Note: some people DO NOT TOLERATE MSM so be careful with it and if can't tolerate add sulfur amino acid.

Go wikipedia and learn about Collagen,Elastin,Keratin and CORTISOL....After you add these 3 supplements you are Increasing the strength of your skin and should with these INCREASE the strength and repair the damage done the upper sphincter by you INCREASING the ph of your stomach which keeps you FULL for hours. Next, add 400mg to 600mg of magnesium and b-vitamins to make sure the reactions happen to form the skin components and take them for longer life!

At the start of the 2 week protein diet, Start taking vitamin c-needed for Collagen production and L-Lysine which is needed for Elastin production. Also consider adding MSM or minced garlic to get SULFUR which is needed to produce Keratin which is found in skin and nails. These 3 supplements WILL make your skin stronger and less wrinkly so the sphincter at top of stomach should get stronger....DO NOT TAKE MSM with blood thinners like fish oil,warfarin,etc.!

Cayenne pepper in pill-form can be bought at walmart to protect your stomach from all these ANTACIDS-google.......They can even get rid of this GERD, and I think most of you suffering from this have never had anything spicy in your lives. I would go on a LIQUID protein diet and easy stuff like cottage cheese for 2 weeks to get the lining repaired before starting Cayenne therapy. The heat from cayenne is JUST A SENSATION-NOT DAMAGE like Prilsec is doing!!

@snakefood2k1 You can get the blood tested for anti-bodies. This is the test that I took. It was positive. Then I was given anti-biotics for 1 week, which did not get rid of the H-Pylori. So I was given the breath test. Which was also positive, so I ended with 2nd set of anti-biotics with antacids.
YOU CAN CURE IT. ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR! Do not take pills anymore, they are just poison. The organic apple cider vinegar will neautralize the PH balance in your body making it less acidic.
I use it everyday. It works instantly and the taste isnt bad.
