2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shredded coconut

Beat egg whites with vanilla until soft peaks form. Add sugar gradually, beating until very stiff. Fold in coconut. Drop by teaspoon on oiled cookie sheet. Bake in a slow oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Makes 1 dozen cookies.

add cherries on top or food coloring if u like

  • hey, can I ask you something? does it taste like the real french acaroons? I tried so many recipes and none of them tastet like the real ones :/ And here in my country, I can't buy macaroons :/

  • i love the way u make them.. does it taste more like cookies? because u add coconuts.. and i guess the taste will be like.. crunchy... (i've never tried macaroons before, i couldn't find them in the town i live in)

  • can u use somethin else instead of coconut

    im not fond of coconut...

  • look for a local Restaurant Supply store...you need a decent whisk you can get a grip on. Those wire handled ones are the worst.
